    Paper good-ies...

    There's something too perfect about personalized paper.

    {Don't get me wrong...I love it, would never leave it, believe if you've got it how can you beat it? I mean, really, it is the next best thing to seeing your name in lights, right? And if you are interested in personalized stationery I would be first in line to whip up a darling design for you (you could even choose one of the above), and in a New York minute, it's almost like you're on Broadway. So, just mosey on over and click the "contact me" button on the right and I'll be at your service.}

    But, how about those days where you're out of personalized, or you're feeling more whimsical or funky than even your stationery will allow? Here's a few that are easy, for a note the might not need an envelope? Or a super quick pick-me up for a friend. Maybe I'll pair them with a bright envelope? Or even a fancy pen...just to get those letters flowing...

    I love John Denver...still.

    OK, so if you know me well at all, you know I'm a huge fan of John Denver's song, "For Baby." Especially on those occaisions where you need a good cry about your kiddos growing up too fast. So, on such a day...after a long first week back at school, voila! A new version of For Baby art. I'm considering adding it to the new blog shop (coming soon!) but as an "unframed" print? Or maybe a framed option as well?

    Getting carded

    I wish. But instead of getting carded how about some cards? Here are a few I whipped up last night while hubby was watching the Royals. As soon as I asked if baseball season was over yet he said well, I can change it to football. Ugh. The thing is, I do like baseball. There is just too much of it in a season. Now football I do not like. I just have never been a football kind of a gal. In junior high when I was a cheerleader they had to explain to me when to cheer. I know, not good. But the cards are good, yes? I am still accepting critiques. Until I say I am not and then no one can say anything not glowing anymore.

    A is for alphabet

    So you could say I am obsessed with type. Letters. The alphabet. From typography to calligraphy, I cannot get enough of the alphabet. I guess it is a perfect fit then that I'm the art director for a magazine.

    So I recently made some cute paper covered wooden letters for Gracie's room, and after showing a photo to a friend she asked for an A for her niece, Addia. Yes, Addia. Is that the sweetest name, ever? She said they call her Addie. So, here is Addie's letter A. Secretly I was super happy because A is pretty much my favorite letter. Besides the fact that it is the boss of all the other letters, the line leader and even in charge of the most elite alapha group, the vowels, it is gorgeous. Right? I mean, there are so many great varieties, upper and lower, on a fabulous letter a.

    While I am still considering putting some of my designs in this new little boutique down the street on the railroad tracks, I am also interested in adding a shop to the blog! And maybe, just maybe happy little letter A's and some of A's friends, will be the first to pop up!?

    Happy friday!

    dreaming of stationery

    So the dream was always to become a stationery + invitation designer. I love, love, love paper and of course have been a designer and art director for so many years it seemed like a no brainer. But, every time I thought "now's the time!" something else seemed to get in the way. So, now seems to be yet another "now's the time" type of opportunity. So, what do you think?

    Should I call the paper line Raspberry Prairie? Will it work in a retail environment? Am I better off going straight to etsy? Will I be able to do non-personalized, as well as personalized items? Can my dream spin into reality?

    Do you have a dream? How did you make it come true?
